Issyk Kul means ‘the warm lake’.  It has extremely pleasant weather – cool summers and mild winters. There was a former soviet military health resort where astronauts come for rehabilitation after flights to open space. Acclimate to 1600m altitude. Overnight in the health center. Yurt stays available on request.  In the evening (or on the road from Bishkek) we can watch an eagle hunting show(4) and take some photos of villages.

Mountain 3900 pass

3-4 hour riding over a 3900m mountain pass. A lot of stops for taking photos. Riding will be slow and may not need riding experience. Coming to an uninhabited ranger’s hut in the evening.  Have some rest discussing the upcoming tour details. Tour map attached with presumably camping points. Usually in May snow will be lying at altitude of 3000m and higher. But as seen in the photos various places have different local climate. Some places have no snow all year round. Most snow will be blown by the wind and the sunny slopes have no snow even in winter, while snow may be found in the shade even in summer.
